Description
Square format version of 'British Phone Box'.
A red phone box stands by the side of a country road, creating a focal point of colour, shape and interest in an otherwise rather barren scene. The red telephone box, a telephone kiosk for a public telephone designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, is a familiar sight on the streets of the United Kingdom, Malta, Bermuda and Gibraltar. Despite a reduction in their numbers in recent years, the traditional British red telephone box can still be seen in many places throughout the UK, and in current or former British colonies around the world. The colour red was chosen to make them easy to spot. This particular box is located in Schivas (pronounced shivers!) near Ythanbank, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Not too far from where I live. Thankfully we have a landline and mobile phones which I usually forget to take with me. I rarely forget the camera though!
