Description
Small, white and almost translucent, these tiny fungi grow so delicately on fallen branches on the woodland floor. Only visible to those who look carefully in the dark and gloomy places they shun the light yet create their own lightness and beauty as they grow among the leaf litter and moss covered debris of the woodland floor. Here you can even see the drops of rain water dripping from the toadstool cap. I almost felt like an intruder into an alien underworld. Taken in the woods of Haddo Country Park, Aberdeenshire in Scotland.Nature's hidden treasures.

My eye stopped at this photo on the "Amazing Finds" and no wonder I was not surprised when I realized you had taken the photograph. Your work is so wonderful and I'm going to be visiting often so that I can slowly enjoy all of it! F/V

The forest primeval. Beautiful greens. V.
Liz Alderdice replied:
Thank you Karyn, there is something about fungi in its darker habitats that really does feel very primeval.
